I was 35 years old and married for 10 years when we had our first child. I'm the oldest kindergarten mom. Someone asked if I was grandma.

Don't even worry about it.

Because the new norm is to have a baby while still in high school.

I was just hoping to make friends. And they all look at me like I have one foot in the grave.

Maybe you look older?

I had my first at 21 and my last at 35. I've seen both sides.  Don't worry about it.  My sister in law had her last at 42.  My grandmother had her last at 39 after she already had 2 grandchildren.  My aunt became a grandmother at 32.  If people think you are weird it is only because they havn't seen much yet.

I had my youngest a month shy of my 30th birthday so I was 35 when she started kindergarten, I don't think there was that much of an age difference between myself and the other moms.

It is not strang, just not the statistical norm.  We had a few moms who were in their early 50s when my kids were starting school. Most of the moms were in their late twenties or thirties.

No, I don't think I do. My husband says it's the suit. It's always the suit. Lol.

Wow, around here, I'm one of the youngest moms, and my oldest was born when I was 19. I got married pretty soon after I finished high school.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I was 25 when my oldest DD went into K, and everyone looked at me like I was a dumb kid. Most of the moms here are MUCH older than I am (mid-late 30s for Kindergarten moms), so I've made exactly zero friends with the parents at my kids school.
