My dh just got summoned for jury duty. He doesn't meet the criteria to be disqualified. He is going to find out if his jobs pay during if not we are screwed if his number get called to report. $15 a day sucksn he gets paid more than that an hour.

Does anyone know what will happen if yoy don't appear? M dh doesn't want to do it. If his job doesn't pay we will lose money if they do we will still lose money.

It is against the law to not report.

He will get a warrant for failure to appear.

If he comes up with some fabricated excuse and the court finds out you will lose a lot more than a little money.

Ugh jury duty sucks. You just reminded me that i need to mail in the form that gets me out of it. (I did it two years ago, moved and my new county called me)

Then make sure he isn't chosen it is easy enough.  If he doesn't go it is usually contempt of court but it depends on the state.  He can get from either a huge fine or  all the way to a jail sentence.

They aren't fun. But if he has to go in, sometimes, if you aren't chosen for a jury, they release you by 10am, and he can still get in a few hours at work I've been summoned seven times, but only served one.
