ER ?

My toddler 21/2 was sitting on the end of our bed while I cleaning up the bedroom. He fell and got tangled up in the designs of the bed and he says he Urts. ( hurts ) he walks and his knee looks like it gives out and he will fall over.  He isn't crying or anything just when that happens he will whine and say hurt. I hate to waste the ER's time over nothing but I don't want him to actually have something wrong. Would they do anything for a sprain i couldn't do at home?

1 mom liked this

Has it crossed your mind to call his pediatrician, a licensed professional with knowledge of your sons medical history, and ask them what to do, before you ask a bunch of people on the internet?

I would call his ped. If not, then take him to an urgent care.

Normal business hours?  Call your kids doctors office and see if they can see him today.  After normal business hours or weekend?  I'd look into possibly going to urgent care if I was really concerned.  However, I wouldn't worry about going to the ER for this.

If he didn't cry it can't be hurting that badly. Make a doctor appt if it's still bothering him after a few hours.

Their pedi recently retired. I havn't found a new one yet. We have a small clinic in town but they won't see children.

Go to an urgent care or the ER they MAY want to X ray his leg just to be safe.
