....read cursive.  I sent her a note, written in cursive.  She sent it back with a sticky note on it that said, "I can't read cursive.  Rewrite in print."

Apparently it isn't a secret.  DS said that she told them and they aren't allowed to write in cursive and will be given a zero if they do.

Wow, I mean I know some placew do not teach it anymore, but a teacher not knowing it. That seems odd.

I would be calling for her immediate dismissal, as she is completely unqualified to be an English teacher if she can't read basic handwriting.

No way any kid of mine gets a zero because the teacher can't read cursive. That teacher needs firing.
