Breast Tissue- normal?

I am 24 and have a baby that hasn't gotten ANY breast milk in over 3 months. I dont pump or anything because I wasnt producing enough. Recently, ive been having boob pains randomly. Tonight, I caressed my boob because it was hurting and felt something the size of a BB or pearl under my skin, on my breast tissue. It is very hard and under the edge of my areola. Is that normal and I somehow missed it, or should I be concerned?

Also breast cancer runs in my family. What does that feel like, so I know? I have looked it up and nothing is very descriptive.

Call a doctor about your concer.

Im 33weeks pregnant and my concerns were the bumps on my nipples and they said it was normal cause of pregnancy.

Cancer runs through my family.

But call eother your primary caregiver or call a cancer center and make an appointment

Breast cancer typically feels like a hard pea, but it absolutely doesn't have to.

Call your doctor ASAP.

It's probaby just a plugged duct. Keep massaging it.

Sounds like a blocked milk duct but you can never be too safe. Call your ob/gyn tomorrow so they can see you asap! Good luck hun!

You could produce milk for a year after breastfeeding but get to a Dr because you are at risk.

Well, in my experience it sounds like a cyst/abcess (it could also possibly be mastitis, but given the fact that you haven't breast fed or pumped in 3 months, I'm leaning towards cyst/abcess). Cysts can be painful and very likely benign. An abcess would require a little more treatment but still very easily treatable! But, working for a gynecologist as long as i have, i know if you were her patient, she wouldn't ignore it. She would either send you for a consult with a beast specialist (given your family history) or if that isn't an option for whatever reason she'd have you go for a mammo with a possible followup ultrasound and go from there. Don't fret, given yourage, very rarely is it something serious. i just find it's best to just have it checked out so you can move on and not worry about it anymore! Go see your PCP or gynecologist!
