I know you can't just log onto your cell phone carrier's site and get text message info other than to/from and date/time, but if I wanted to see the messages, can I go into a store and ask for them? The account is in my name. I don't need anything from a judge or a lawyer, do I?

I think usually you need a warrant from a judge

I figured this assumption would come up. It's typical of CM. I didn't say anything about why I need them. I just asked a question.

Nope, you need a court order to get messages at least from AT&T you do.

You should be able to call your provider and ask for hard copies for text messages.

You wouldn't need a court order for your own files.

Call your provider tomorrow and ask.

Well the only other scenerio would be obtaining them for some legal fiasco...which I would guess would need a court order to help push things along.

And side note...I always assume the looniest of scenarios when posted anonymously

Usually a warrant is needed for actual messages.
