DS is 7, in third grade. A few classmates are 9 turning 10 in his class

Kind of worries me him having such older kids in his class.

Not sure if they were left behind due to grades or their parents left them behind on purpose.  I really haven't asked. They seem so much more mature than my LO.

Ummm Obviously They failed. But why would it worry you

Ok so I stop getting quoted. .. or there are just some old ass kids in that grade. Which is weird because my dd is in 5th grade and is 10. But who cares.

Why is he so much younger then the other students?

I was 7 during the start of grade three but most of my classmates were 8, my birthday is the end of December.  Same as my sons class - he is in grade 4 and is 9, most of his classmates are 9 or 8 turning 9.

My daughter is 8 and in the 4th grade.  She is the youngest in her class and will be 9 middle of October.  Most kids in 4th grade are 9 going on 10, why are they so much older in your son's school?

My DD is 9 and in 3rd. It's a normal age to be in 3rd grade. I was in 3rd at 9. DH was 10 in 3rd. We both graduated at 18. I don't see the big deal...

We held my ds back, summer birthday and he just turned 10 and is in 4th grade.  Why are they so much older?
