Has anyone chosen to formula feed after successfully breastfeeding?

What were your reasons? I am hoping for civil answers. And I am not planning on using formula so it's not about that. I'm just curious.

I am breastfeeding my 14 month old and will breast feed any children I have in the future. If it were literally impossible for me to I would use donor milk before formula. Formula is an absolute last resort

It's hard to say if I was really successful at breastfeeding but I switched to formula with both. I really didn't want to. With dd I was working and couldn't pump worth a damn. We did half and half for 6 months but by then she much prefered the bottle. With ds I was a sahm but he just wasn't thriving. He was born at 10 lbs 8 oz and it took 6 months for him to reach 14 lbs. He was super unhappy all the time and I was miserable trying to produce more milk. At 8 months I finally gave up. I am sad that I will never nurse another baby.

I was successful but after breastfeeding for 3 months I realized I had to go back on several medications.
