I am pregnant with twins and they both tested positive for downs. I am so heartbroken. We retested and it came back the same. My husband wont even talk about it. My family is asking what I am going to do. I am 37 years old and this was my last chance to be a mom. I want to keep them so bad but I am afraid DH is going to say abort. I will tell him no and it will cause strife and we will end up divorcing. I am so sad right now but not for me....for my poor little babies.

Those test aren't always 100%

Don't jump to conclusions till you talk with your husband.

I'm sorry. I would take his feelings into consideration but ultimately it is your choice. Good luck.

Those tests aren't 100% accurate.

I would encourage you to spend some time with some kids w downs and their families before you make any decisions.

I would divorce any man that suggested that I abort my babies. Downs syndrome or not, they are part of me, and I love them.
It's your choice, but don't abort unless you feel you want to. Only, and I mean, only then.
He could leave you in ten years for some whore, and you would be wondering, what if?
Just know, those tests, even the amnio, aren't 100% accurate.
Even if they are, its amazing what medical science can do!
My son was born with one lung, his heart is on the wrong side, malrotated bowels, mirror side organs, etc....ended up having two inches of airway taken out at six months, he was very critical.
He lived, and is twelve going on twenty.
He's quite a wonderful young man, and I'm proud to have him in my life.
What is wrong with his organs is genetic, and there isn't a test to check for it.
We did specialized ultrasounds to check in our subsequent children.
Had one of them had the same health issues, we simply would have delivered in the proper hospital and made sure he got the right medical care.

My BFF has 3 kids, all 3 tested positive and all 3 came without the extra chromosomes. Those are not always 100%.
I have 2 other friends that tested negative and both have downs babies.

It won't be easy but I wouldn't be heartbroken. I would see them as the gift that they are.
