A woman ringing me out at dollar tree was talking to me about her DF and how he was born in west virgina and had moved to the town I grew up in. I had said how I'd been born in Virginia and moved to said town. She knows my DF'S family so she's always very chatty. Well she than said "Virginia, West Virginia it's all the same thing. They tell me it's different, but who really knows."

I was in total shock. How do you not know they are different states. Like whaaaaaa?!

I went yo school with a girl who didn't know Oklahoma was a state. She thought it was a town in Texas. And she was from Texas! How do you not know, at the very least, the neighboring states?

I met some people once who thought Las Vegas was in California.

I had a woman here on CM tell me that if states have the same "name" in them, then they are really just the same state... no difference between the Dakotas or Carolinas, and most certainly not the Virginias.

My brain still hurts from that post.

Sounds like she was speaking in jest.
