Should it be mandatory (or illegal for drs to refuse to test for it at parents request) to DNA test children who are born to people with known genetic illnesses? DNA testing done after birth.

I believe that should be left up to the parents and doctors, not the government.  Since no genetic illness is a public health threat, why should anybody else care?

Pretty sure most people would elect to have this done on their own.

I think any good parent would want that. Not that it's the governments buisnes tho, so no to mandatory.

But a heads up your child has a disease could really help that child.

I have a genetic illness. 50/50 chance of passing it on. One child we know has it but all the drs I have gone to refuse to test my oldest be cause he does not have the symptom that 90% of the people with the illness has even though he displays other symptoms.
