MPHS and more

What the hell is going on with our schools now adays? What happened to verbal fights over who had the coolest shit or who you could get killer bud from? Geeezes. I only need my DS to make it one more year in high school. Then we can face the college drama.

Yup I'm going there. Marysville Pilchuck High School went back today for the first time since the shooting. Then there are these that very few know about...

And the list just keeps going here in Seattle. Sadly it's not just colleges anymore. It's even in the elementary schools.

Being a parent now adays is some scary shit. I am glad my one and only DS has one more year left in high school and is smart enough to know what is OK and what's not. I dread his college years but we'll make it through those too.

My DS use to say "Stop Mom. You don't need to kiss my cheek every night & say I love you. Plus you don't need to give me a hug every morning before I go to school. Since the MPHS shooting... he's changed his mind and now comes an give me a cheek kiss at bed time and gives me that see you later hug. Odd for an almost 17 yr old boy but if it eases our minds... then so be it.

So kiss your kids when you put them to bed. And give them a hug when you send them off to school in the morning. You never know if it's going to be someone else that changes everyone's world that day.

DS has decided he doesn't want kisses, cuddles and snuggles.
