So often on posts, someone says that the tax money spent on welfare is so minimal no one should complain. From what research I have done, it's actually 19% of the country's budget.

So let's see how much is going out just for cafemom households... If you get any kind of pa, please share what kinds you get, and if you can, an estimated monthly cost of each benefit.

Feel free to go anon.

Thanks!

And please don't tell us how you pay taxes and contribute to your own welfare.

Why? I don't understand why this is such a hot topic?
And no, I do not and have never received assistance.

How much is the defense budget? How much of that 19% is going to corporate gains? Why do you care so much?

To people who say it's none of our business, it really is. We have a right to know how our government spends our tax dollars, it should be the same with welfare.

I think it would be interesting to see how much aid is really out there.

We should all care. This is our country.

And, the defense budget is almost equal to the welfare budget, both at about 19%.

What the hell, I'll play. We get 360 in food stamps. My 2 children both have Medicaid. No idea what that amounts to but they see the doctor once a year. My Dd has gone to urgent care once but otherwise it has just been well checkups yearly.
