How long does it take?

My daughter has a suspicious lump on her breast and her doctor is very concerned. She has to have an ultrasound tomorrow morning because she is too young for a mammogram.

Does anyone know about how long it takes to get the results of the ultrasound?

My Dr came in during the u/s and talked about it with me. There were no other results in my case.

How old? Does she have breasts yet?

I found out the results the same day from a follow-up ultrasound.  There was an ultrasound tech and a doctor with me during my ultrasound.

what does that have to do with anything? She asked how long for ultrasound results and you ask if she has breasts yet.  Really?

She's 17 and, yes, she has breasts. But mammograms do not work well with younger girls/women because the breast tissue is too dense to get a good picture so they do an ultrasound instead.

I hope we get results at the time of the ultrasound. It's at the breast center that specializes in this kind of thing so that makes me hopeful for quick results. This waiting bs sucks!
