Do you give your kids an allowance?

If so, is your child's allowance directly tied to chores that he/she's expected to do each week?

He gets $5 if he doesn't flip any cards at school for the week. He doesn't have chores, but he should.

Yes, they get an allowance. They get half of their age in allowance. It's for them to learn how to handle money. They do chores. Some are expected and some they get 25-50 cents.

My baby doesn't receive one yet, but she will. I don't plan on tying it to chores. Contributing to the household is an expected part in being a part of this family, so I don't want to tie them together.

She has an allowance and she has a chance to earn more when she does household tasks and/or completes her school work.   I have bad memories of chores being linked with allowance so I refuse to do that.

No allowance. They are expected to do chores. They are given everything they need and most of what they want.

Nope. He is expected to get what I ask done without payment.

I do take him to the bank every week and give him money to deposit into his account.
