Well technically this batch was under $5... we are a family of 5, but one is a one year old that doesn't eat much yet. We had our fill for supper with a large bowl of leftovers in the fridge and I put away three gallon freezer bags.

I used 3 deer rings (dh goes hunting and does the processing himself plus these were from 2 seasons ago and just needed to be used so I don't have a cost for them)
About 5-6 potatoes...about a quarter of the 5lb bag I got for $.99
2 bags of mixed veggies. ..I only buy when on sale for $.88
About 6 carrots...I yhink the 5lb bag was $2.77, so maybe $1 worth of carrots
1 bag of green beans...again $.88
3-4 onions from our garden
2 jugs of v8 vegetable juice...would be $1.98 each but I had gotten some when we were on wic and it was still good so technically I didn't pay anything this time.
Seasonings...I used a small amount of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne pepper...I estimate about $.50 worth.

I threw it all in the roaster this morning and we had such a yummy supper and I'm excited to have 3 more meals in the freezer plus I found a way to use the deer rings other than just cooking them and eating as is :)

Venison farmer style ring...basically a ring of venison sausage.
