Do you ever ignore or tune out your kids?

I have a very chatty 3 year old and sometimes I find myself unintentionally ignoring him.. Like if someone is talking to me or if Im watching a movie or a show. My DH does the same thing. I feel like a horrible parent for doing this:/
When I realize it, I of course apologize to him and then respond to him.
Gosh. Just thinking about it now makes me hate myself!!
Is this a normal parent thing or am I the only terrible mom? :(

Yes I can tune children out (I prefer selectively listen). I would have lost my mind working in childcare for that last 10 years if I couldn't!

Yes, at times. I value the few shreds of sanity I have left. Actually today I was thinking how my parents left us to our own devices a lot...and how I don't think it was such a bad thing!

Yes, I do it. My son loves to tell me everything at every given moment. I feel bad about it when I catch myself doing it too, but most of the time I'm in the middle of doing something.

I do it all the time. I have 5 kids annd they fight all the time, tattle and what not. I have become a master at tuning them out. I wish my hubby could master the same skill. He get irritated when I do it. But I cant help it.

I turn my hearing aids off when DS won't shut up.

Yup! Ds is also 3 and literally doesn't stop talking until 7pm when he falls asleep! I'd lose my mind if I couldn't tune him out

Yes.
My kids talk all day.
Sometimes just to hear themselves talk.
I just have to sometimes.
