Car seats- really, in this day and age

At my skns daycare this morning. And yes, I saw the child in it when the dad pulled up. I kindly offered to help the dad with putting the car seat in the back (it's a four door car) but he said "no thanks. I like having him up front with me" and walked off. What else would you do?

You don't do anything. You offered to help. he declined. Walk away and allow him to make his mistakes.

1 mom liked this

I would contact the daycare directly-this kid is coming in and out of their parking lot-and they are mandated reporters.  This is child endangerment.

Call the cops. Most states have a law where they have to be 12 or older to sit up front. I'd feel horrible if I didn't say or do anything and the kid was killed in a fender bender by the airbag

Like what? I wouldn't 'do' anything.

In my state the child can sit in the front with a booster at age 4 and it's not against the law.

It's illegal in most states until 12 yrs old

Not much you can do. I guess you could have said something like "Me too, but the risks outweigh the rewards imo" but doubt there'd have been any point. I'd have done the same as you probably.
