Afford Christmas presents, would you accept used toys? There is a Facebook group that's doing a toy drive for families that can't afford presents for their kids. I saw a pic on the group and some of the toys looked pretty used, they looked dirty and well used.

I bought a bunch of toys for my toddler on an online garage sale.

Not if they looked dirty or well used. I think that would be worse for the kids to recieve toys that were dirty.

Beggars can't be choosers. That said, I would feel pretty shitty donating some nasty, dirty, broken down toy.

I can't imagine not taking at least a few minutes to clean something before donating it. I even clean things that we just put out at the curb for some random person to pick up.

I've never been an adult in that situation

but I was a child and I remember one time a neighbor gave my mother a huge trashbag full of barbies , dolls, clothes, accessories etc. all old and well used by her daughter who was an adult at the time..

I thought we had won the lottery.

I seriously asked if we had.

If they looked well used I wouldn't and would probably be offened. If they were in decent shape, yeah I wouldn't mind at all. It really bugs me that all these charities want new toys because my daughter has easily 5 toys we could donate that she NEVER plays with that are in perfect condition. Her panio pad for example. I still have the box and could probably wrap it up and pass it on and no one would know it was ever used.
