Would you homeschool if

your child had really bad acne? I saw an 8th grade boy who had the worst case of cystic acne I have ever seen. If that were my kid, regardless of being bullied or not, I would honor his/her request for homeschooling. Is appearance a valid reason to avoid regular school?

He attends a solidly middle-class school, so I'm guessing that he is under dermatologist care. Severe acne can be very resistant to treatment.

I wouldn't home school for any reason. I'm not cut out for that.

Me either. But, I can't imagine going through those sensitive years with that sort of disfigurement.

No that is not a valid reason to home school,  of course of my child's acne was that bad I would have taken him to a dermatologist.

He attends a solidly middle class school so I'm guessing he is under treatment. The really vicious stuff doesn't respond.

For that reason no, it does not make sense to me. But I would do as much as possible to help my child get through and clear up their acne.

See a Dr if its that bad (Dermatologist) if possible.

I'm planning on homeschooling my dd till the 3rd grade, but for better reasons then appearance! Lol

No, I wouldn't teach my kid that he had to stay out of public view because he had an imperfection

I would homeschool for any reason if my child wanted to. In that case I'd do my best to work with a dermatologist though...

No. We are past the days in this country where people suffering from medical conditions should be shut away so no one has to look at them. I would never teach my child that that is a reason to leave society and stop having friends.
