Are you serious?

Because of commercial reasons
Because it's fun
Because it's a way to show appreciation for your family
Because trees and Santa and frosty the snowman have nothing to do with Christianity

I am Christian... Southern Baptist to be exact. Our Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus. It's all about presents and spending time together.

I don't care who celebrates Christmas.  I am Christian and it isn't about Santa and presents for us.  We avoid the commercial part of Christmas, go to church and spend as much of the season doing things for others as we can.

This is asked a lot, and every time I see it, I have to wonder; can you really not see how Christmas is mainly a secular holiday? the way it's done now a days any way. Ask any kid who doesn't actively go to church, or who's parents don't actively insert christianity into Christmas, what Christmas is about, and see what they say.

Heck, even the bible says that Jesus' birth is all about joy to the world and peace to everybody.

if you are a Christian why do you put up a tree and teach your kids about Santa...put up decorations, etc? why do you celebrate Easter?

why? Because you enjoy the traditions. you take the religious meanings away from Santa (originated with odin, a pagan God), you take away the religious symbolism from the trees, decorations, eggs, and bunny.. even pretend Easter is about Jesus even when it's clearly named after a pagan goddess.

why do you celebrate Christmas? how do you celebrate it?
