Hi,
I was diagnosed with pcos a about 3 years ago. I have been on Depo for the last two years. My doc says it's not encouraged to use more than two years in a row and may be part of the reason I am having trouble losing weight. I cannot take anything with natural estrogen, and my doc said said that iuds aren't recommended for me due to something with my cervix. Any other ideas? Has anyone with pcos tried the implanon? I have taken certain bc pills but it's nice not to have to remember daily.

Here's a bump. I have pcos also but stopped taking any bc about two years ago because I could nit find one that I liked and my only child is a clomid baby. We'll take our chances ;) Have you ttied contacting a specialist for recommendations? I know my regular gyn was not as well informed as my specialist when it came to my diagnosis.

I took clomid the month before conceiving my daughter. I was supposed to take it the following month but they goofed up my prescription. I got lucky I guess :)

Previously I saw a specialist that diagnosed me. He said the bc was my choice, but that I needed to be on something unless my intention was to get pregnant. I don't get periods without birth control and he said that it could increase my cervical cancer risk.

I was just diagnosed with it and I'm on metformin. I can't handle bc and I've tired them all. Good luck.

I'm on 1500 mg per day. I'm hoping to find done kind of bc that doesn't cause weight gain. That must be frustrating :( I'm finding my options are limited.

They all caused weight gain and break outs. I stopped taking the bc and didn't get my period for a year. I finally gave in and went in and was told I had pcos and they placed me on metformin 1000 a day. I've had two period since being on it and omg they are horrible! I bleed so bad and cramp and bloat so bad! I'm about to say screw it and say I want a hysterectomy.

Geez, that sucks! I'm sorry.

The only bc that has been okay for me is depo and the bc pill called apri/desogen. But I've had a hard time losing weight on either.

The only time I lost weight was when I was pregnant. It was really weird.
