So I am curious... Does anyone still buy...

iPods? Especially for kids? At what age do they get their first iPod?

With cell phones these days seems like most don't use or need iPods.

No. My oldest son is 12 and has a tablet and a phone, a laptop and 3DS. The youngerkids have none. They share my tablets and an old phone of mine for games.

I just got my son a Shuffle for christmas because he has a cheap phone that doesn't play music. He's 10 and he isn't responsible enough for a more expensive phone.

never did.

did buy mp3 players - but that was prior to any decent phone being able to hold and play a decent amt of music.

No. I didn't like that she could only text with Wi-Fi so she got a phone

my kids both got an iPod touch at the age of 2.

they are now 7 & 5

i have upgraded them both last year for V day

my 5 year old wants a phone, but i am going to wait at least another year or two for that and my 7 year old could care less.

i have my iPhone

they both also have their own iPads at their dads, and they both have Macs here at home

all for diffierent uses, my iPhone is a hotspot when we are on the go

I like them because they are less bulky for a run or something.

ok but the point of iPods is for music, apps (games) and so forth. I dig that these things can be downloaded on tablets and yadda yadda but iPods are smaller and more portible.

The iPod touch 5 was a huge seller this year. Makes me wonder who is buying them. No one seems to buy the cheap small iPods or nanos anymore.

Quoting TheRingmaster: No. My oldest son is 12 and has a tablet and a phone, a laptop and 3DS. The youngerkids have none. They share my tablets and an old phone of mine for games.

I was going to get DD a phone but it's really pointless to pay extra a month for a 7 year old who won't use the calling feature so we are going with an iPod for her upcoming birthday.
