Can I use regular laundry detergent...

to handwash a shirt that says "handwash" only? I was just at the store and forgot to get Woolite, which I usually use. TIA!

It's not the detergent but the laundry cycle that's the issue.

I'm sure it would be fine.  But I might not be a good person to ask, because I put stuff that says "handwash" in the washer all the time.

Yes. I've used tide for years on hand wash only items and they've turned out fine.

Yes, you can use regular laundry detergent to handwash.  Just be sure to rinse it really well.  I never use woolite.

I put stuff that says "hand wash" in the washer all the time. I put it in a laundry bag. The bag prevents it from getting stretched during the wash and spin cycle. I then hang dry or dry flat on a towel.

I always do. I hand wash in the washer then rinse in the sink. Then I throw the laundry in so there isn't any waste.

Any detergent will work.
