(Piece?). Anyway, the wedding posts got me thinking. Have you ever been to a wedding where this was said? Ever been to one where somebody spoke up? I have never heard this and i have been to tons of weddings. Is this just something from the movies and tv?

nope, but we came VERY close to having a wedding intervention for a friend

luckily he came to his senses and called it off

I'm with you on that. Maybe it's an old fashion thing to prevent fraud/bigamy or breech of promise or something like that. I never heard anyone say that in any wedding and I'm 42 so I've been to a few.

When I got married the 1st time (over 30 years ago), it was in there. No one said anything. I've been to and in several weddings since, and can't remember hearing it in them (including my 2nd wedding). LOL.

I've been to a few like that! It is awful to feel like that but I was always right!

I've heard it said at a wedding but it was a long time ago. I've never seen someone intervene though.

i don't think it's said as often anymore, but i have heard it in some that i've gone to. Nobody has ever spoken up. I think you still hear it a lot in movies though because it gives them something to use in their storyline.
