Every baby is an atheist!

Every baby is born an atheist is the stupidest saying out there. Babies are also born with no idea what shape the planet is or what country they are born into. They don't believe in any god the same as they don't believe in the Higgs Boson. This argument is entirely flawed and I wish people would stop saying it as if it proves some point.

And I'm an atheist.

You totally misinterpreted it.

Of course literal babies are only atheist because they don't understand anything. However, those babies will almost certainly grow up into atheist adults unless an outside influence puts the idea of a higher power in their heads. Basically, the point that's trying to prove is that the idea of a higher power is man-made, rather than naturally or spontaneously generated in the human consciousness.

Heh? I've never heard that before. But how is that proof of anything? As if babies are somehow enlightened. Babies know nothing as you said!

I did not miss the point. The problem is that that saying is so convoluted that it fails to get the point across intelligently. It's snarky and half witted and when someone uses it in a debate they almost assuredly accept defeat as anything else they say comes across as childish and misinformed.
