Do you consider Macaroni & Cheese "poor people food"?

Now I myself am not a fan of macaroni and cheese, I just don't care for it.
But something I have noticed is that a lot of low income families use it as a staple in their homes.
My husbands two sisters are poor and every time they talk about dinner, or post a picture of dinner whatever it is macaroni and cheese is ALWAYS a being served.
It cannot be healthy to eat mac & cheese with every meal for crying out loud.

Obviously people can eat whatever they choose, this is simply an observation.

I don't know.

I make mine rather than buy it boxed. (I adore baked macaroni and cheese.)

But the .39 boxes were a staple growing up.

I could see a lot of low income families eating it frequently but a lot of people just really love it.

No. I LOVE mac and cheese and would eat it if I was poor or a millionaire. Although I dont eat it with every meal or even close.

It's .33 cents a box here so yes. I like to make my own as a meal.

We love it, but we don't eat it all the time...it is very high in fat, cholesterol and sodium due to how I make it. For me, it's a comfort food..I'm southern, so it's a pretty popular food here.

I love Mac and cheese, but no, it's not healthy. I only make it homemade and only every once in a while. I don't really think of it as "poor people food" but I would assume anyone who eats it that often is not very health-conscious.

LOL... we are definitely not poor and I LOVE me some mac & cheese.  But I do the homemade kind.  I could be a zillionare and I would still love mac & cheese.  I actually had some lobster mac & cheese on NYE and it was the best thing I've ever freaking eaten.

So no, I don't think it's a "poor people food."

I would eat it with canned peas and tuna every day of the sodium didn't scare the crap out of me. Lol. I LOVE it and I love the leftovers with ketchup too.

My parents have a lot of money and my stepmom used to use it bc she can't cook lol. She'd add chicken and then like seasoning...

I love it and I'm not poor. I like to make it from scratch but I do keep Kraft boxes on hand.
