Why is every mother on MC the "exception" and not the rule?

I've been a member of CM/MC for a long time (although I take breaks from the website), but one thing I've noticed over the years is this:

A LOT of people try to enforce the idea that they are the "exception" and not the rule in various situations.  I've seen this when it comes to welfare benefits, vaccines, special needs, education etc...

Do you feel you are the exception to the rule?
If you do/don't, do you feel others exaggerate their scenarios in order to make themselves look like they are an "exception" to gain more acceptance for their choices/circumstances in life?

Generally, in my experience, the statistics are the exception, not the rule.

It depends on the rule. I dont think there is ever any sort of rule where there isn't an exception.

Everyone here is the exception to feel better about themselves. That's what I've noticed.

No one wants to admit that they're fat and on welfare just because.

I was a teen mother. I beat most of the statistics that come along with that and I will scream it from the rooftops. You don't have to believe me. Doesn't change my reality.

Also, you have to look at reason for some of those 'rules'. You can't take every single statistic for face value.

This is like any other social setting. Most people put up a big front, and only let a few, close friends, know what is really going on in thier lives. It's not shocking, nor is it unexpected. I don't believe most of what I read on here.
