Maybe because like me they have had too many carts hit their cars and dent them because people are too lazy to put them away.

I don't really care about what others do but I personally put my cart back.

Do they seriously charge a cart deposit?

I have a few dents on my car due to people not putting their cart back.  It is just aggravating due to the fact that it could have been prevented if someone had taken 2 seconds and brought the cart back.

I have never had a cart dent my car. Is an empty cart really heavy enough to leave a mark on your car on its own?

It's just a quarter to make it so people will put their carts back. It helps to cut down costs so they don't have to send an employee out to round them up.

Ding ding ding. I generally put my cart back, but don't have strong opinions about what others do.

Yes a quarter.LOL I doubt that really prevents cart theft. Usually I just hand the cart to the next person to save them a quarter.LOL

I don't get emotional about it, I didn't comment on the other post, but I think people who flout rules are selfish and bad people.   Rules exist to keep society  running smoothly--anyone who thinks they are above the rules is basically a criminal.
