My husband joined the army straight out of high school. When he first enlisted he was infantry and then after two deployments changed his mos to military police. He left active duty and joined the reserves. Since being in the reserves he's deployed two more times and is set to deploy again later this yr. His civilian job is a federal corrections officer in a prison. Hes always been in some form of law enforcement and has never expressed interest in any other job. I work as a paramedic. we've been talking about moving and buying a house, I just found out that he has to go to the state that we've been looking to move to because he applied to be a fireman and they want him to go and take the exam. This is new and surprising. Yes, he's still serving the community... But in a different capacity. I'm just worried that he's going to leave his federal job and not love what he's doing as a fireman. We'll see how this goes.
