Caught looking at porn... But not their fault?!

My boyfriend's daughter just turned 9 for her birthday so he got her a tablet (again, she broke the one he got her for her birthday last year)

I walked into the living room and she was hiding the tablet... Well I took it and she had been looking up porn on YouTube... In the living room... With the other kids in there... I told my boyfriend I felt that she needed to lose the tablet tonight and be sent to bed in her room instead of the couch (which is a weekend thing)

He basically asked her what she was doing by looking that stuff up and then told her "Well it isn't really your fault anyway. You shouldn't have been able to look it up."

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK?!

She HID the fucking tablet when I walked in the room, she OBVIOUSLY KNEW what she was doing she shouldn't be... But it wasn't her fault?! N

No wonder this kid takes NO responsibility for her actions. She throws on some tears and Daddy does NOTHING.

It gets deleted as soon as it's reported. My daughter did the same thing. Also at nine. She was searching for "mermaid tails." I didn't punish her for finding it, but tried to restrict her from her devices due to not being able to trust her to shut that down as soon as she found it.

She searched Sexyyy 2015 (or something similar) and watched 5 different videos...

But "It was an accident." "It wasn't her fault"

ANYTHING to where she isn't responsible for the shit she is doing.

One of them had some guy sucking some chick's nipple and I couldn't watch any further.

Seems like daddy is always going to take her side instead of being a parent. Do you want to deal with that long term?

You should never give a child free reign online, ever.
She was curious obviously so instead of wanting to punish her her father needs to talk to her. Find out what she's curious about and answer any questions she may have age appropriately. Punishing her doesn't address the issue of why she was looking at it.
It isn't the end of the world and curiosity is normal. It opens up a very important topic to discuss and you guys should use that opportunity.
Now, go out parental controls on that tablet!!
