My brother told my mom to not tell anyone -- she told me -- and now I have to act surprised!

My mom told me today that my sister-in-law is pregnant.  My brother told my mom the happy news over a week ago..and asked her not to tell anyone (not even me -- he wants to tell me in person).  She couldn't wait any longer, and told me this morning, but asked me to "act surprised" when he tells me.

My brother and I have plans this weekend and I'm sure he's going to tell me....but now I have to "act surprised" because I don't want to get my mom 'in trouble' for telling me.

I'm only hoping that hearing the news direct from my brother will bring out the emotional reaction I had when my mom told me the news today!

I'm so excited for them, but I'm worried about my reaction without giving my mom away for having told me.

Oh please. It is NOT that hard to act surprised. You can do this.

You probably shouldn't tell your Mom anything in confidence. =)

If you have seen SIL recently, you can always say "I know she had that glow" lol Then he doesn't know you already were told, and you do not have to fake being shocked. lol

I do think hearing it directly from him will bring out the emotion.   It's just strange for me to know I can't tell him I already knew.

I don't think I'm "over-thinking" this.....I think my brother wants to tell me the news directly...and it kind of is a big deal.  Since when is expecting a baby NOT a big deal?

My brother wouldn't really care if mom told me. In fact I don't even remember WHO broke the news about his wife being pregnant. It may have been the wife.
