Stop acting like we're poor bc you don't like a meal we're having

I shop for the week. I do this bc stuff used to just go bad bc my family was bad with leftovers.

I usually make 3-4 meals and then we have leftover throughout the week. the fruit, snacks, veggies, last us for about a week too.

We are in a good financial position. Dh has a great paying job and we are very lucky to be able to pay certain bills three months in advance out of his bonus and profit share checks. This means that out of his paychecks, we only have to pay smaller bills, like the electric and cable and then household expenses like gas, groceries, etc. Everything else is done in advance: rent, car payment, insurance (is actually paid for the year). Other stuff goes into savings. We're very lucky.

Last night I showed Dh my grocery list and told him the meals I was making.

Corned beef and cabbage and potatoes.
Eggs and sausage links
Roasted chicken and green beans, salad.
Sweet potato burrito bowls.

He wants me to make eggs and sausage instead of corned beef and cabbage and sweet potato burrito bowls. Like, he wants that for three nights.

I told him if he wanted that instead of the other meals that was fine. I'll even make it for him. But I'm not NOT making meals that give at least another meal during the week bc he doesn't like if.

He tried to make it about money and was like "well it's expensive. Eggs and sausage are cheap."

Oh please. If you were so worried about money you wouldn't have gone to the casino last night. Like, he doesn't like those meals. And that's fine. He doesn't have to eat it. But I HATE when he acts like I'm some mad woman racking up insane bills and draining him financially. HE wanted me to stop working full time. He's such a baby about food he doesn't like and he goes about telling me he doesn't want something in the WORST way possible.

Our grocery bills is probably about $150 every week. IF that. It's not unheard of or insane.

He could always make the meal plan, grocery list, do the groceries and then prepare all the meals!

How much money did he lose? Maybe he's feeling guilty. I nag when I'm feeling guilty.

I mean he doesn't eat like that all the time but he DOES need to eat better. Not that I always make 100% healthy meals but recently his stomach has been bothering him after certain meals. Like, he has to eat better.

He's having a hard time bc I'm introducing more things like beans and yams to meals. OMG I made crab cakes with onions last week. And red and green peppers. You would have thought I served him garbage.

To his credit, he WAS the one shopping f bc I don't feel good.

I've tried to get his input on meals. He just says "I don't care" and then picks at meals sometimes.

I'll make stuff that he wants...and I fit in stuff he likes weekly. He just won't be like "no I don't want that" when I'm actually planning. He waits till its time to shop or when the meal is actually made.

My DH is really opinionated about meals we have because he likes certain foods and more variety than me. Maybe your DH wants more involvement in the meal planning? Or you aren't making things he likes?

How the heck are sweet potato burrito bowls expensive? Beans and rice are cheaper than eggs and sausage.

I wouldn't cook something my husband clearly doesn't like.  Just take it off the menu and make something everyone will enjoy.

My family eats eggs just about every day. None of us have high cholesterol.
