How do people afford this?

How can someone afford to go back to school after a bankruptcy??

I applied for FAFSA, and got a letter saying I was awarded $400. I thought, is this a joke? I don't think I can get student loans because of the bankruptcy. I live in a high cost of living area and work a low wage job.

Advice? I feel like I'm doomed. :-(

You could get a student loan through the financial aid system. I don't think they deny anybody for that particular student loan. They don't do credit checks. I think it's called the Stafford student loan.
