Corned beef and cabbage!! Yum making mine Tuesday night..

When you buy a corned beef, they usually come with a seasoning packet. Add carrots, celery, potatoes and onions. I'm pretty excited.

I just make it. Never measure etc. Buy it, brown it all over in a skillet then toss in a crock pot with fresh garlic and any seasonings you like (it will also come with a seasoning pack) I slice some onion in there too. Add some water and cook on low for 8 hours or so adding more water as needed.

I don't make corned beef any more, the meat is just too fatty for my taste. But I use to just crockpot it with potatoes, carrots, cabbage, onion, and celery with a bit of salt and pepper.

No corn in it.It's cooked with peppercorns and other spices. The ones I've bought come with a packet of spices you put in the water the meat cooks in.I usually have it with cabbage and potatoes.

It has to cook quite awhile because that cut of beef is pretty tough. My husband loves it,but I can take it or leave it personally.
