My husband's family drives me crazy

His dad's side that is.
They are extremely money hungry. Whenever ones gets married it turns into a big money production.
They host stag and does. This is an event where you go and spend money on alcohol and games. The money earned is used to help the couple pay for their wedding. They are common in Canada.
They then host bridal showers- more money.
The wedding is also a money grab. They will invite certain people to the ceremony and dinner, but not others. Some get invited to the reception only due to "space issues" (my husband and I fall in the category). We then have to supply a gift, buy our own alcohol, pay for pop, pay for water, and they even do games (again, you have to pay for them).

It has gotten to the point where we no longer RSVP to their weddings.

Well it's rude not to RSVP, start declining instead.

We don't RSVP, as in we reply and say no. That is what I meant.

Who carries cash anymore? I wouldn't have money to pay for games at a wedding!
