Had the girls clean ther room yesterday. It wasn't bad. Shouldn't have taken too long. Three hours later the room looks clean.

I open their dressers to find clothes and trash stuffed in there

I opened my little ones toy box to find clothes and trash mixed in with the toys.

Don't even ask about under the bed.

So dh and I cleaned it. Threw a ton of stuff away. Pulled out all their clothes and left them a weeks worth.
Pulled all stuffed animals out
Only one blanket per bed
No toys in the room.
No books
Nothing extra

They are 9 and 12. Too old for this crap.

The boys room was near spotless. Even under the bed, closet, dressers, toy box. All of it. They are 10 and 11.

Mine have tried that the last few times they "clean" and I've had to go back and sit in the room going over what clean means with them again. But then again it's expected since they are 3 and 4. At 9 and 12 yeah that's punishable they darn well should know better.

LOL, I love this and definitely would have something I would have tried.  I refuse to demand cleanliness for my kids rooms.  As long as it isn't a safety hazard and I don't have to climb over stuff and there is no food etc. I let them keep them as they see fit.

Sounds like something I would do.
