No. As long as they have some type of goal. If they don't want college, I would at least encourage a technical school.

I'd be ok if he enlisted in the military. He comes from a long line of servicemen and women.

I will say, I'd rather college be the first option.

nope, my oldest does very well for himself working for Coca Cola, he didnt graduate high school (thanks to his dad letting him quit)

It would depend on the situation and what their aspirations were. If they weren't sure or had plans to do something else I wouldn't want them to go just to go.

no not at all. college is not the only option. all I want is for my kids to be happy and successful. college is not a requirement for that at all.

 It's a non-issue here.  College is not optional.  I don't care what they do with their lives after college, but they are going to college.  DD is now a senior in college and DS is a senior in high school and finalizing his school choice.
