Dh cousin came to town to visit. Their kids are the same age as ours but they are little disrespectful little runts. They don't get disciplined but if I say something the cousin's wife gets all defensive.

I told dh that I didn't want our kids playing with them for those reasons. Now he's saying that I'm being stuck up.

Am I?

If they are just visiting, then let them play. I could understand if it was more long term, but a few days won't be the end of the world.

I'd say it is rude ... Their family. It's not like you can run and hide from them.

My rule is if it is in my house and the parents don't parent, then I will.  If the parents get huffy and leave then it's a win-win.

That's the thing. I know I can't say anything without the wife getting butt hurt.

Let them play and do not discipline them because that is rude as it isn't your place.  You are being stuck up and sometimes that is okay but if it is your husbands family and he is offended you need to change your tude.

There are many friends of my oldest's that I have banned from my house for this exact reason. I wouldn't invite them over but I would say go out to dinner with them.
