They added nicotine testing to our regular drug testing panel and will fire anyone who has it in their system

I am actually really glad about this. They gave everyone 3 months warning that it was going to happen so it isnt a huge shock. All the people who actually care about their job have found a way to stop smoking or make other arrangements. 

That means the office will smell less like cigarettes and maybe I will be able to take more breaks because I wont have to compete with the people who were taking a quick cig break

This isn't legal, so I'm calling bullshit.

edit: it isn't legal is most states, and those states that it is I would prepare for a lawsuit.

There are already laws and statutes in place in 29 states and in Washington, DC that prohibit employers from discriminating against people who use tobacco in their spare time.

Unless you directly with with patients in a healthcare related field, it's not legal.

You think it's that easy? Say, they decided to fire all obese people if they couldn't slim down in a year. Should be simple to lose the weight if you want to keep your job right? Oh well though it's their choice in the end though.
