Went to donuts with dad today I was the only mom there....but when you play mom and dad...I feel you have a right to attend....I'm sure some were very unhappy but we had fun

It's not something I would have done, but not my situation. Glad you had fun.

Does it just emphasize to your child that he/she doesn't have a dad? Or does your child not notice that he/she is the only one without a dad?

Why don't you request it be for either parent if you feel entitled to attend?

Why not ? So just because my child's dad isn't involved he's supposed to sit in a empty classroom waiting for school to start while others were eating donuts

Does your child call you dad?  If the answer is no then you should have skipped it,  there are dozens of school events designed for the mothers to attend,  I don't see why you felt the need to butt into the one event designed for just fathers.

My son's school allows anyone to go but they still have a lot of gender specific events. I go to donuts with dad too. They refuse to change it.

I would have just sent him when school started.

I'm sure he noticed but he wanted me to come he's pretty mature and knows the situation

No grandpa or uncle or even male close friend who could take him? Would have been a better option then sticking out like a sore thumb Imo
