My 4 year old is REALLY hard to get to sleep. It is a constant struggle, and some nights it is 12/1 a.m. before she winds down and goes to sleep.
Tonight, I managed to get her to sleep around 9:30, which is a great success.
Well, DH gets home from work around 12:30, goes upstairs and starts banging shit around. This woke up DD. She is now fighting going back to sleep.

Why are people so thoughtless sometimes?

My four year olds used to be hard to put to sleep. Then I did a no-no and started letting them watch a movie at bedtime. They have a selection of "quiet" movies I picked out that they can choose from and it helps them wind down and fall asleep without playing and stuff. I set the timer on the tv for however long the movie is and they are usually out before it shuts off.
As for someone waking them up being inconsiderate? I might have to murder them.

My 4 year old has trouble getting to sleep but mostly because he has RLS. Leg massages usually help him out.

I can relate. I can remember once when I finally got dd down for a nap and my mom stopped by. She just HAD to see the baby. Well she went and had a look and on the way out she tripped and kicked the bed. I was so mad that I couldn't form a sentence. DD is 14 now and the family still brings that story up.
