If you are in an apartment or rental of some sort, they are often painted with the lowest quality paint.  Washing them will result in the paint being removed.  You could try the most gentle touch with the magic eraser on the walls, but I'm thinking if even dawn and warm water removes the paint, there's not much you can do.  There are special cleaners at the pet stores that are for pet stains.  Try the Nature's Miracle brand.

Maybe next place, don't let your kids and animal destroy the house.

I have gotten off crayon, pen and pencil with a magic eraser using gentle strokes, no scrubbing because it will take paint off. Also ammonia, vinegar, baking soda and water mixed

If soap and water take the paint off you really don't have many options
