Cytotec is a medicine they use to open your cervix and start contractions.

I really don't know. Here's a bump for you. Good luck.

Does that mean your baby is measuring large?

It's a drug used to induce labor. Some places use pitocin, some places used cytotec.

I think it means you are further along than they thought.

The meaning behind the reasoning is the baby is either larger or smaller than the projected time frame to the due date.

I would call and ask for more explanation. Sometimes labor is induced because the baby has stopped growing and developing within the uterus and is ready for the world.

Just call your doc and find out. Remember you're paying them to assist you and your baby so make sure you have a clear understanding of the answers

Personally I would decline an induction * just * based on size.

Is this your first? After my first at 9lb 6oz (I'm a smaller girl) the ob said if she knew she was that big she would have induced and would with future pregnancies due to size. Eye roll I had no issues. Delivered two other babies 9 plus lbs no problems...and honestly because of how doctors are I probably wouldn't want a late term ultrasound.
