Is it ever acceptable for a married man to never ever wear his wedding band?

We don't do never ever but he rarely wears his because he is a mechanic and it gets in the way and dirty. UT he will wear it if we go out or on his days off.

Yes. My DH never wears his because of work, it might get caught on something. I don't mind because I don't wear one either. Doesn't make us any less married.

I know plenty of cops that don't wear their rings if they are undercover.

DH usually wears his, but if he didn't I wouldn't really care. Wearing a ring doesn't change anything.

I'm sure there are plenty of reasons. Weight gain or loss to make them not fit...jobs that require you to not wear hand jewelry...material irritating his finger...

I wear my family ring, he hasn't in years.

No, I don't think either HAS to wear a ring. That's just silly.

Mine can't wear any jewelry at work so he got a ring tattooed on his finger instead. If this wasn't the case and he could wear the ring but chose not to I'd be concerned.

This. A ring is a symbol and if that ring is the only thing keeping him cheating then the marriage has problems anyway.
