what do contractions feel like

I think I'm having contractions but I'm not sure. My first born I was induced. My second was in labor the entire day before I had her but I didn't know until my water broke the next day. Neither time were the contractions unbearable just uncomfortable so that's why I'm not sure. I got a pain right under my stomach that made me pause for a minute until it went away and now I have these pains that aren't as bad as the first one but they are a little uncomfortable.

I think they are different for everyone. They were unmistakable for me.

I think everyone is different.. I didn't have contractions...

For the most part they start in your back and feel like they are pulling through to the front... or so I've heard...

Are you able to time them? if they are consistently coming the same amount of time...then maybe your having contractions.

They feel like muscle cramps to me. Like the kind that you can't force to relax or bend the joint in the area.

Labor isn't bad for some people. They told me to come to the hospital when the pain was unbearable. It never happened. I just went from contractions every 8 minutes give or take to contractions 2 minutes apart. My son was almost born in the car.

With my first I would get a small pain in my back.  I finally noticed that i could time them to exactly 5 minutes apart.  I didn't feel any really painful ones until after my water was broken.

With my second it was undeniable that I was having contractions.

When you get these pains does your stomach get hard?

I had back labor with all 5 of mine. None were unbearable though.

Mine were never in my back, more like the cramp that says you need to poop. But never terrible until after water broke.
