So im not sure if any of you moms on here are in the same situation as me (single mom back at home with her parents) but I woke up this morning to a contract that I am to sign before this evening that states " conditions to live in our home." Now I dont know if its just me but I consider myself family.....being that im her daughter, and I don't believe I should be called a guest, but the contract states that I am a guest in their home and will be treated as such. My mother also expects me to have a full time job 6 weeks from now and start paying her rent. I do not own my own vehicle. So in order to get to work I will have to find a way there. Then I will have to pay for full time day care, pay rent, and somehow find a way to save money for my own car, and place. Im sorry I just dont agree with all of this. Am I wrong? Should I be treated like a tenant in my parents home

You're a grown up, your time of getting a free ride is done. Pay the rent.

Yes. You're an adult. They raised you and now it's time for you to be a grown up.

You are an adult with a child. Your parents are no longer responsible for your upkeep.

Yes. I've lived with both my own parents and my in laws, I'd feel like a failure of I did not contribute to the house. You may be family, but you are draining their check book. Woman up and get a job.
