Progressive Lenses (No Line Bifocals)

I've owned them for about 5 hours.  I hate them.

People keep telling me I'll get used to them.  I'm VERY skeptical.

My doc...who is usually a very useful fellow...did not explain to me how much peripheral vision I'd lose.  I went from single Rx to these.

I work with 2-4 year olds.  I do 70% of my job out of the corner of my eye!

Am I going to be able to function with these?  When?

You do get used to them.  Took me about a week.

But then I went to contacts - monovision (one eye for close up, one for distance).  Instantly, it was perfect (apparently, I'm one of a small percentage, most times it takes a few days).  The contacts are WAY better, and I can work out in them, swim in them,, run in them.

That's exactly the deal with my contacts! It's been working well for me too. I don't wear my glasses all that often, but like having the choice.

I started with them about 3 years ago. I still have to remove them when navigating stairs. =(
