Well, that was interesting...

DF and I go out an explore old back roads, logging roads, and drive through so pretty rough territory at least once a week to decompress (we're very outdoorsy folk). DF's truck is specifically made for the task, but some of the old roads we find are in pretty rough shape.

We were driving over a long-abandoned logging road along the side of a hill when the ground gave out from under us. The truck couldn't get any traction on the loose scrabble, so we wound up sliding all the way to the bottom. Thankfully the truck didn't flip, and none of the tires burst. It took over an hour of pushing, shoving, wiggling, and slowly crawling along the bottom of the gulch until we found a section of the hillside that was at a low enough angle for the truck to be able to climb back up and get back to the road. No casualties save for some burnt rubber and a bit of lost paint.

When we finally got out, we just sat at the top and laughed like maniacs. By far one of the most interesting (read: terrifying) adventures we've had thus far. I'll be happy if we never have one like it again.
