I've been job searching but so far haven't even gotten an interview. I found one job last night that work out really well I couldn't complete the application for because I don't have professional references, (it says no experience required, which is hard to find).
I was researching volunteer stuff last week thinking itd help add something to my resume, give experience, be doing something to help, etc plus my sister and oldest were going to go a few times this summer with me and majority of them require you to have professional experience in certain areas. Only two I found that didn't was loading/unloading groceries for food pantry and the other was at an animal shelter with cleaning but requires using bleach which I'm allergic to :(

My DH was unemployment for 26 months, put out hundreds of applications. The average turn around for a reply was 3 months. You need to be more polished than others also looking for a job. Research the company you wish to work for and update your resume to that companies statistics. Be the best candidate.

Walmart will hire just about any body so long as they aren't using drugs.  No experience or professional references required.

Did you apply for the food pantry? What are you talking about when you said your sister was going to go with you? Go where?

My mother was in similar shoes. When my dad left, she had no high school diploma and had never held a job. She worked hard to get her GED and then her degree, but she still had no experience. She worked at a charity, and they do start you off on the lowest rung. If you stick with it and show a willingness to learn? You move up to something that is helpful.

Good luck.

They're not hiring at all right now, I already did an application for them. The job I want is in one of the schools part time :(
